The one thing we are missing is that this case is one in several thousands. This is just one that successfully came to the limelight because parties involved are too intelligent and sufficiently educated to escalate the matter.

The other thing I feel so sorry about is that several other passengers didn't see this as an opportunity for unionism and rather coarce the airline into the right behaviour.

And so the countdown to the next airplane crash begins...

Air peace Scares me.

There has been so much incidence of this people putting brazen capitalism over basic customer satisfaction.

At the slightest decent they act like brazen animals at their customers.

It is a company culture.

If you talk, the next thing they will say is that you are against Igbo owned businesses.

No! This is false, I am also a southerner and proud of the work Alex Onyema has done, but all this comes to null at the backdrop of a company who places a greater importance on Capital over basic human decency.

We are not asking for too much as Nigerians, just treat people with basic decency.

Apart from the political class ( who are Nigerians too), the major problem of this country are people who will rather look the other way when it doesn't directly affect them ( or more concern about their own inconvenience to see a social injustice).

How will you explain other passengers sitting there, all this happening and even telling her to apologize to someone who should be professional in his dealing( even bringing religion into it ).

I'm sure if they have all stood by thier persecuted passenger, the airline would have no choice than doing the right thing, they empower the airline and it's collaborators by being selfish and isolating that woman.

Very soon, they will release a press statement blaming the fraudulent alterations on a computer glitch which they have since corrected. The reactions of poorly run organisations are not difficult to predict.

@Ovo, from the Video, I could hear a voice saying "Madam , I believe you are a Christian, just say sorry".....such comment shows the low level of many Nigerians...I agree 100% that if most Passengers had stood on the side of Justice, the Pilot and crew would have buried their heads in shame....instead, they kept quiet like "living Mummy"... So sad

I really hope Nneka finds justice at the end of all this. Very sad a top Nigerian Airline can do this and try to patch things up. I have also had very nasty experiences about Air Peace delaying and canceling lights without timely prior notices. God help us all

I devoured every word! This is really a byproduct of poor company culture and ethics. Deborah Bazuaye, Adedoyin Adeniji, Aminu Suleman and even the pilot demonstrated poor professional competence. This matter should never have been allowed to escalate to such a messy degree. Let us see if FAAN and NCAA will now act or keep playing the ostrich.

The cabin crew and Air peace could have done better handling the issues professionally.

This was quite a read! I had to visit the man’s Twitter handle @qriscero to read more. If only those two Air Peace lawyers (Deborah Bazuaye and Adedoyin Adeniji had handled the matter better, this mess could have been avoided.

Mehn, Airpeace action is so distasteful... The behaviour of the pilot is so terrible, this type of pilot can crash a plane out of anger.

Bro I read every word of this article. It is eye opening. Please do keep us updated on their case

I read the whole article .

The same thing happened recently on an Airpeace Flight I was onboard from LOS to PHC earlier this year.

It had to do with a young man who sat on the wrong seat number unknowingly to him. One of the air hostess walked up to him and an argument ensued . The pilot came out and ordered the young man to leave the aircraft or else he won’t fly. It took the pleas of other passengers before normalcy returned.

Dear Hundeyin, while I commend your write up, and you almost persuade me to be a subscriber, yet I find some elements of doubt in the story. One because I think the professional investigative journalism is uncompleted by investigating other passengers on the actual flight who witnessed & saw the entire saga.

2ndly, is the fact that assumption is the mother of *fuck ups*, please pardon my American expression. We blatantly assume that Air Peace is wrong & Nneka must be right. I know a stubborn Nigerian when I see one and we are the most "ENTITLED" being on the surface of the earth. Air flight is definitely not for the lower class & this is where most of our problem is. 30 min delayed flight by carry-on luggage... 😂 It's laughable but then rights that hold so many hostage isn't right at all... I'm sure the manner & disposition of all concerned must be at play here judging by how we as Nigerians behave (loud, entitled & sometimes privileged). We fight for mundane things rather for substance.

Your bias can be seen against the mighty Air Peace... (don't get me wrong, rightly so, I see the pattern in all things great & mighty in Nigeria. It is a show of great character if you don't follow same above the law syndrome here in Nigeria... Something we lack immensely as a people... Yet, there is the 7,000 that are not seen in any situation).

My opinion, is that all are guilty in this story, even Nneka... Passengers pleading with her in the name of God connotes some wrong or manner of approach. Obviously when a fight ensues between 2 people, the stronger always wins... Even if it is unjust. If the plane had crashed because of frayed nerves of the pilot, would we be debating rights? That would be up to God to judge, now in the realm of the dead... By the way, the luggage may not even factor in that judgment at all.

Nevertheless, we await the trial in court but we know the case is flawed as is with Nigeria 🇳🇬. We have so many things wrong, no good local competition in the Airline biz, no good regulators (across board), and no good citizenry as well. Consumers too can be at fault, paying customers are NOT ALWAYS RIGHT.

So why were the other passengers begging the lady to apologise in the video, apologise for what exactly?

First the already tagged the bag as hand luggage, then changed their mind n asked her to check it in, she eventually did after some altercations, why didn't the matter die there??

The pilot is full of himself and Airpeace has shown how dubious n crafty they can be by altering the flight booking records and accusing her of bringing dangerous things into the plane. Personally, based on this incident, I will never fly with Airpeace
